Worldsteel Masterclass: How can steel become more environmentally friendly and intelligent? ⚙️💡
 
Dr. Thorsten Hauck, Head of Process Optimisation in Iron and Steel Production at VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH, gave a presentation on ‘Digital and green transformation of steel production – status and prospects’ as part of the World Steel Association (worldsteel) Masterclass steelTalk.
In his presentation he summarised the key findings of the ‘Green Steel for Europe’ project and related research, highlighting the current challenges and opportunities on the path to decarbonised and digitalised steel production.
To conclude, he linked these findings to our SUPER project, which represents the next step in the development of smart, data-driven and energy-efficient solutions for the steel industry of tomorrow, while also addressing how digitalisation can enhance process efficiency and decision-making in modern steel plants.🌱🚀
